Body armour

Body armour is a vest or other garment meant to protect the wearer against shrapnel, and sometimes bullets. It is often meant to be worn together with and under load bearing equipment. Many Soviet and Russian models feature pockets for magazines, and are often seen used without any complementary webbing.

The Russian term Bronya (romanized from броня), which literally means Armour, is used in designations for body armour and helmets in the Soviet Union and Russia, shortened to the one letter B (romanized from б).
