Neva
From RedAllianceWiki
Neva, or Systema "Neva", (romanized from HEBA) is a late 90's Russian assault vest.
The Neva vests were seemingly competitors in the search for a new assault vest for the whole of the Armed Forces of Russia. In the end the 6Sh92 triumphed, and use of the Neva seems to have been confined to peacekeepers in Kosovo. Most military issue khaki Neva vests seem to have been made in 1997, but there are camouflaged examples that lack dates and stamps. Neva vests have been made in (at least) solid khaki, TTsKO- and VSR-camouflage patterns.
The pouches on the Neva-vest are closed using Velcro and buttons. The buttons are small and difficult to use, but fortunately not necessary to keep the pouches closed. The VOG-pouches are supplied with two lengths of nylon cord, these can be tied for extra rigidity. The day-pack features one large main compartment, and three smaller ones, two at each side and one against the outermost wall. The main compartment is closed by straps and Velcro, the smaller ones by simply Velcro.
